Legalization and the development of legislation regarding the practices of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in South Carolina are in their infancy.  It is important that the professionals whose livelihood is directly affected by legislative and regulatory developments become directly involved with the process of planning, debating and implementing such regulations and legislative acts. 

In South Carolina, we have the ability to build our profession’s foundation on solid standards that will promote our continued success both in treating our patients and developing our businesses successfully.  Legislators, Allopathic physicians (MD’s), Doctors of Chiropractic, and other professionals need OUR guidance and involvement in order to best integrate Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine into mainstream health and safety practices in our state.  If we do not advocate for ourselves, who will do so for us?
